DIY kit to make 8oz of breast milk baby diapering cream

Are you a breast feeding mama? Now you can easily make the perfect diapering creme using your own liquid gold with this pre-measured kit. My daughter's baby had a rash on his bottom and typical diaper creams were not working. I had heard how well breast milk diaper cream worked, so I whipped up a batch for her, and WOW! One application and there was a noticeable improvement. She raved about it to her friends with babies, and they all wanted to be able to make some as well. So I have put together a SUPER easy DIY kit with everything you need (minus the breast milk of course) plus easy to follow instructions, and 2 properly labeled storage jars; one to store in the fridge and one to keep by your diaper changing area. No one wants to have to run to the refrigerator every time they need their Baby Bum Balm!

Your DIY Baby Bum Balm kit includes

  • One large empty 8oz jar that will hold the finished Baby Bum Balm. **Once you have made the balm, it needs to be stored in the refrigerator for up to three months. Be sure to write the date you make the balm on the front label.
  • One small 2oz jar that contains the pre-measured starter base that you will use to make the finished balm. The starter base does NOT need to be refrigerated until you use it to make the completed balm that includes your breast milk. This small jar will also be used to hold some of the completed balm and kept at your diaper changing area for easy access. This can be kept at room temperature for up to 7 days, after which you should discard any balm that remains in the small jar then wash and thoroughly dry before filling it up again from your main 8oz jar that is being stored in the fridge.
  • Starter base (see above)
  • Vitamin E
  • Complete easy to follow instructions.

Included Ingredients:
Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E, Lavender essential oil (I can also make the starter base with out lavender if you prefer. Just leave a note in your order please.)

Items you will need:
Small microwave proof glass measuring cup or bowl.
Medium glass bowl.
Small spoon.
Small silicone spatula.
Electric mixer. (I use a hand mixer, but a stand mixer would work just as well.)
100mls of room temperature breast milk. This can be previously frozen or fresh. (Expired frozen milk is perfectly fine to use for this)

Instructions: The starter base is 100% natural and does not contain any preservatives. Be sure to use clean and dry equipment, and wash your hands to avoid contamination and prolong the shelf life of your balm.

1. Scoop all of the starter base into a clean glass microwaveable measuring cup or bowl, and melt in the microwave on MEDIUM POWER in 30-45 second bursts stirring occasionally until completely liquid and transparent. (if the starter base is too hard to easily scoop out, you can soften it a bit in the microwave on MED power for 15 seconds or so) Alternately, you can melt the starter base in a double boiler or water bath on the stove top.
2. When the starter base has been completely melted, pour it into the medium glass bowl, then using a clean pin or the tip of a sharp knife, pierce the Vit E capsule and squeeze the contents into the melted starter base.
3. Slowly pour the room temperature breast milk into the melted starter base while continuously whipping using your electric hand mixer. It will begin to emulsify almost immediately. Continue whipping until desired consistency has been reached. It will get to the soft peak stage, and will stiffen a little more as it cools completely.
4. Once completely emulsified, package your Breast Milk Baby Bum Balm in the provided 8oz and 2oz jars and keep refrigerated.

** you can use a hand whisk if you don't have an electric mixer, but it will take some pretty serious whipping to get it to emulsify properly.
